Data Filtering : AutoFilter
When you have a list of items, you can filter out records that meet a particular criteria. This is a quick introduction to some of the OOo Calc data filtering capabilities.
To introduce the OOo Calc data filtering capabilites, we consider the table illustrated below.

First, select the columns and rows that you would like to filter. Then Data-Filter-AutoFilter as shown below.

This is the result. You should now see drop-down arrows at the head of each column.

Clicking on any of the drop-down arrows gives you several options, you can click on any of the sample data or use one of the specialized filtering tools listed. If a list is previously filtered, you can click on the (All) option to bring back the records. For example, we’ll click the arrow to the right of Month and choose Jan out of the list.

Only the rows that meet the selection criteria are now visible. Don’t worry, you can restore the original table just as easily as you filtered it.
